Louise Anne Connelly Ruane, age 88, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, in Havelock, North Carolina. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and close friends.
A funeral mass to honor Louise’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 30th at Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock, officiated by Father Jim Buchholz. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 29th at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock.
Louise was born on September 13, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Harry Connelly and Eulalia O’Meara Connelly. As one of eight siblings, she grew up in a home filled with love and laughter.
Known for her wit and sense of humor, Louise will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Louise loved reading, cross stitching, and working word puzzles. She held a deep love and appreciation for her Catholic faith and upbringing, attending mass regularly until her health no longer permitted.
Louise’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 68 years, Martin J. Ruane Jr.; their 5 children, Mark Ruane (Gayle) of Wendell, NC, Lisa Gauze (Mike) of Newport, NC, Nanette Ferguson (William) of Melbourne, FL, Kevin Ruane (Pati) of Valdosta, GA, and Kelley Midgette (Bruce) of Newport, NC; grandchildren, Bruce Midgette (Miranda), Will Ferguson (Annalisa), Kristian Ruane (Kellsie), and Griffin Ruane; and siblings, Margaret Lambert of Bloomfield Township, MI, Gerald Connelly of Wyandotte, MI, Janice Carta of Trenton, MI, and Richard Connelly of Trenton, MI.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her siblings, Raymond Connelly, James Connelly, and Robert Connelly.
