Louise was welcomed into the world by Joyce and Ross Byrne on July 16, 1951, in Rexburg, Idaho. She passed away peacefully at her home, October 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer.

Louise was raised in Sunnydell on the family ranch just outside of Rexburg, where she grew up alongside her beloved siblings, to whom she remained close throughout her life. Life on the ranch instilled in her a strong work ethic, a love of the outdoors, and a deep affection for animals, especially horses. From a young age, she could be found riding horses, helping with cattle, and later competing in rodeo queen contests.

After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She began her career with the Idaho State Extension Service, serving Butte and Custer Counties before returning to Eastern Idaho. Upon her return, she married Greg Twitchell, and together they had three children: Jeremy, Jenny, and Willy. They later divorced.

Louise's passion for education grew throughout her life. She earned her teaching degree and began a 30-year career in the Rigby School District, where she taught and advised students in the Home Economics program. She loved her role as an advisor, especially traveling with students to conferences and competitions. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom-she was a mentor, encourager, and friend to many.

Her greatest joys in life included the outdoors, her horses, and most of all, her family. She loved gathering everyone together for holidays, family activities, and cheering at school and sporting events. Louise was known for her generous heart-hosting Christmas parties where everyone was welcome and ensuring each guest left with a gift or treat.

She was blessed with a circle of dear friends who supported and uplifted her. Whether walking, visiting, or traveling, she cherished their love and companionship. In recent years, she fulfilled many lifelong dreams, traveling with friends to Egypt, Jerusalem, Church history sites, and on a memorable cruise to Alaska with her daughter Jenny.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Joyce Byrne, and her older brother, Lawrence (Marilee) Byrne of Riverton, Utah. and two grandchildren, Brody and Tanner Twitchell.  She is survived by her children: Jeremy (Lori) Twitchell of Lamont, Idaho; Jenny Twitchell of Rexburg, Idaho; and Willy (Ronda) Twitchell of Rexburg, Idaho. She is also survived by her sisters: JoAnn (Jerry) Cramer of Rigby, Idaho, and Marie (Bob) Shaffer of Mackay, Idaho.

Louise will be deeply missed by her thirteen grandchildren and her brand-new great-granddaughter. While we mourn her passing, we rejoice in her reunion with loved ones who have gone before, especially her parents, brother, and grandchildren, and find peace in knowing she is once again riding her favorite horses, free and joyful.

Louise was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a deep testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She found great comfort in the gospel's promise of eternal families and looked forward to being reunited with those she loved beyond the veil. Her legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to bless generations to come.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, at the Dalby ward building, 201 W. 8000 S., Rexburg. A viewing will be held on Sunday, Oct 19 at Flamm Funeral Home from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to services at the church.
