Louise Katherine (Mocadlo) Vicker, age 89 of
Plover, WI passed away the morning of August 6, 2025 at Pride TLC of Weston, WI.
Louise was born on December 1, 1935 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Lubecki) Mocadlo. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1953 and then married Gerald "Jerry" Vicker on May 25, 1957 at St. Peter's Church. They spent their 40 years of marriage together enjoying time with family and friends; whether it was a trip, attending their Moose or Elks Lodge, going bowling (Mom proudly told us many times of her 7/10 split pickup), playing cards or cribbage for hours on end.
For many years, starting at a young age, Louise worked at her father's Southside Bakery. She made many multi-tiered wedding cakes along with other baked goods. Later in life she also worked at the UWSP Bookstore, where she enjoyed the many incoming students.
She regularly attended mass weekly at St. Joseph's Church, then later watched her mass services from home. Her faith in God, her Savior, was with her always!
Everyone that knew Louise would agree that she had remarkable skills in the kitchen whether it was her baking (her "pistachio dessert" or birthday cakes were often requested), the endless baseball or football tailgate and Jimmy Buffett pre-concert going parties, her famous Thanksgiving stuffing and gizzards, or the bottles of homemade Irish Cream for the holidays. Her words of "Eat what you can!" will always ring true to our family, always indulging more than we should because it was just too good! Even after all the family feasting, we'd all find room to share in her favorite snack, the home-grown popcorn which she helped pick many times at the family farm.
Some of her favorite pastimes were taking part in a dart or golf league, watching the Packers, the Brewers, or her grandkids play sports. She just recently spent all day & night at the softball fields cheering on her granddaughter, Vanessa, as she regularly did. Shaking dice, an afternoon of bingo, or a game of dominos, was always a laughter-filled family and friends event. Her seat at the head of the table will forever hold her lucky spot!
Louise is survived by her children - daughter Barb (Jerry) Soik of
Plover, WI; son John (Teresa) Vicker of Sebring, FL; daughter Jamie (Tom) Hatfield of
Plover, WI; sister Mindy (Kurt) Frymark of Stevens Point, WI; stepsister Penny (the late Fred) Copps of Stevens Point, WI; brother-in-law Richard Jurgella of
