Louise Weir, 89, of Searcy, passed away, Thursday, October 30, 2025 in Searcy. She was born February 16, 1936 in Kensett, Arkansas to the late Vernon and Lois (Stracener) Akridge. She worked as a claim’s examiner for the Department of Veterans Affairs for many years and won many performance awards. She and her husband were long time members of the Westside Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting and won 8 ribbons at county and state fairs. She and Charles traveled to many states and countries.
She is survived by her son, Charles Steven Weir and wife Marie of San Diego, California; daughter, Rita Jo Seely and husband Brian of Newport News, Virginia; 6 grandchildren, Cecily Weir Jaeger (Andreas), Matthew Steven Weir, Garrett Caelan Weir, Christine Leach (Chris), Karen Diane Syadlack (Michael), and Robyn Elaine Seely; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Weir, parents, and sister Jackie Kazor
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Searcy Children’s Home or a charity of your choice in honor of Louise.
A funeral service will be held at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Weir Cemetery. Searcymceuenfuneralhome.com.
