Louise "Weezy" Zajack, the fierce and beloved Matriarch of the Zajack family, passed away on Saturday March 22, at 1:51 PM-just as Linda, Jerry, and Jonathan were pulling into the party. She always did know how to make an entrance...and an exit.
Louise is survived by six children- Linda and Jerry Russo, Joyce and Jon Curl, Joseph and Mary Zajack, Ann Nikorak, Donna Zajack and Susan Zajack.
From her first grandchild Amy Cuevas to the newest addition in her first great-great grandchild Valerie, Louise left a mark with the large family she built. She leaves us with 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild-each of whom she loved unconditionally.
Born in 1938, Weezy lived 87 years filled with laughter, love, and just the right amount of mischief. She was quick with a joke or to light up your smoke, and always ready with a story that might make you blush. If you knew Weezy, you had a story about her-and you also knew to be careful who you told it to, because it was likely inappropriate.
But beyond her quick wit and sharp humor, Weezy's true gift was the way she loved her family. She never missed a birthday, an anniversary, or a major life event-making sure to call and remind you, in her own way, just how much you meant to her. Whether it was a simple check-in or a long conversation full of laughter, she made sure you always knew you were loved.
She had a passion for the finer things in life: salt, scratch-off lottery tickets, and a good time surrounded by the people she cherished most. She created a family where stories, traditions, and love were passed down through generations, leaving behind a legacy that will live on in every shared memory and every call made to carry on her tradition.
In true Weezy fashion, she waited until her family was gathered to send her off in style. While we will miss her beyond words, we will continue to share her stories, honor her traditions, and most importantly, never miss a birthday call.
A celebration of Louise's life will be held soon, where we'll laugh, reminisce, and honor the unforgettable woman she was. In lieu of flowers, buy yourself a scratch-off ticket, call a loved one, and tell a good story. She wouldn't want it any other way.
Rest easy, Weezy. Your love will always be with us.
A Memorial visitation will be held at the S.W. Brown & Son, 267 Centre St. Nutley, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 12:00PM - 3:00PM.
