Lovell Pratcher

Lovell Pratcher was born to the late Velma and William Pratcher on January 3, 1948 in Batesville, MS. He departed this life July 17, 2025.

Lovell was the pillar of strength, wisdom, and grace throughout his remarkable life. In his teens he received Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Evangel Temple Church of God in Christ. He was the Scout Master of the North Memphis Chapter of The Boy Scouts of America. He was loved by so many children. His life was a testimony to service, faith, and community.

Throughout his leadership of the youth programs, he guided youth's soul with compassion and wisdom, becoming a spiritual father and keeper of generations. Throughout his life the love of Jesus underscored his unwavering commitment to his faith and community.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Sophia Pratcher of 30 years. A love that only death could separate.

A retired engineer of TennPlast where he worked for 35 years. He was developer and owner of an Aquatic Exotic Fish Emporium. He also worked at the Memphis Zoo for many years. He raised horses and other exotic animals.

He leaves to cherish his memory six children: Lovell Jr., Shevett, Victor, Kim Adrielle and Julius Pratcher. Also to mourn his loss are his siblings: Carolyn Barker, Ivory Pratcher (Berenice), Barbara Coleman, and McKinley Pratcher (proceeded in death). Also, grandchildren and a host of family members who will miss him dearly.
