Lovina May (Qualls) Jellesed passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, November 10. Born May 8, 1942, she was 82 years old at the time of her passing. She grew up – and later raised her family – in North Sacramento, graduating from Norte Del Rio High School. She married and later divorced Ray Jellesed, and together they had four children: Ben (Terri), Ray Jr, Shane, and Dawn. She was the proud grandmother of 3 granddaughters and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Frances Olsen, and her life partner, Ole Foss. Lovina was very active in square dancing at both the local and state levels, having been instrumental in the launching of several groups in the 1970s. Lovina’s heart and home were always open to anyone who needed a place to go, a good meal, or just someone to talk to. She was like a mother to numerous of her children’s friends.
Friends are invited to a Send Off for her Journey Home, scheduled for 12 – 3pm on Sunday, December 8. The gathering will be held in the Veterans Memorial Hall at Royer Park, located at 110 Park Drive in Roseville. The family will provide lunch and drinks to be enjoyed in follow ship after a small service. The family asks that in lieu of sending flowers, please bring a small bouquet or small bunch of flowers to be placed along the tables for all to enjoy. Flowers were after all, among Lovina's favorite things. While the passing of someone we all loved so much can be heartbreaking, the goal for this day will be to honor, remember, laugh, and love as we say goodbye to one of the world's most amazing humans.
