December 14, 1939 – September 29, 2025
Lovinue Ruby Davidson Laird, born on December 14, 1939, in Hensley, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, surrounded by family and friends in St. Augustine, Florida.
Lovinue made St. Augustine her home in 1971, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her eight children: Gail Laird Wishard, Ervin "Buddy" Laird, Debra Mitchell, Willis "Bo" Laird Jr., David Laird, Ronnie Laird, Tonnie Campbell-Laird, and Andy Laird; one sister, Nettie Mae Simms of Jacksonville, Florida; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lovinue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willis H. Laird Sr.; her parents, Andrew and Connie Davidson; her brothers Archie, William, Dawayne, and David Davidson; her sisters Catherine Williams and Elsie Crabb; as well as several nieces, nephews, and one grandson.
A memorial service celebrating Lovinue's life will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church in Hastings, Florida.
She will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her strength, and her gentle spirit that will live on in all who knew her.
