Funeral services for Lowell "Wade" Davis, age 83, of Hokes Bluff, will be held 11am Monday, April 22, 2024 at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home with Caleb Caudle officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5-7pm. Burial will follow on Monday after the service at Shady Grove Cemetery.
Wade passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at his daughters home.
He is preceded in death by his first love, Jerrie Holdbrooks Davis; wife, Margaret Davis; daughter, Gail Moyer; granddaughters, Kristal Lewis and Melissa Rushin; parents, Charles Davis and Edna Prater; and brother, Donald Davis.
Left to cherish the memory of Mr. Davis are his daughters, Pam Tallent (Don), Kim Sims (Brian); sons, Jimmy Davis (Susan), Jeff Davis, and Brian Davis; grandchildren, Justin Sims (Rachael), Brent Sims (Britney), Megan O'Dell (Josh), Marie Atkison (Allen), Nick Davis (Charmagne), Brandon Moyer (Kaitlynn), James Moyer, Jamie Lynn Daniels, Felicia Moyer (Allison), Jerry Davis, and Cale Davis; sister, Vonda Melton; and brother, Harold Prater (Trisha); as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Wade was a member of Bachelors Chapel Church. He loved Alabama football, Nascar, and his beloved dog, Bama girl. For a short time, he was a long-haul truck driver. Mr. Davis was a loving father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Justin Sims, Brent Sims, Jerry Davis, Nick Davis, Brandon Moyer, and Hunter Sims.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alison Fordham, Hunter Lewis, and Cameron O'Dell.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Enhabit hospice nurses, Harley Murphy and Megan O'Dell.
