Lowell Jay Estep passed away peacefully on the morning of August 17, 2025, at the age of 87. He was reunited with the love of his life, Shauna Deakin Estep, and their daughter, Debra Estep Maxfield.

Lowell was born on December 23, 1937, in Plymouth, Utah, to James Berry and Effie Archibald Estep. He was raised in Plymouth and held a lifelong love for the valley he called home—never straying far from its fields and mountains.

On July 27, 1956, Lowell married his sweetheart, Shauna Deakin. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Utah Temple on July 28, 1998, sealing their bond for eternity. Together they raised their children and built a life rooted in love, faith, and quiet strength. Lowell’s devotion to Shauna was unwavering, and now, after eight long months apart, they are joyfully together again.

Though a man of few words, Lowell’s silence spoke volumes. His steady presence, quiet wisdom, and deep love for his family will be remembered always.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures and treasured time spent outdoors with those he loved. Some of his happiest memories came from cutter racing, traveling with friends, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, camping, motorcycle rides, golfing, boating with his grandchildren, and family vacations. Lowell was a man who could fix anything and took great pride in working with his hands. He approached every task with care and dedication, including his 40 years of service at Thiokol. Lowell and Shauna served an 18 month mission at the St George, Utah Family History Library.

Lowell lived a quiet, steadfast life—one that spoke not in many words, but in actions, love, and devotion that will echo for generations.

Lowell leaves behind his children: Lola (Craig) Garbanati, Wes (Carol) Estep, and son-in-law Kevin Maxfield. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Josh (Sara) Garbanati, Cena (Van) Smith, Micah (Stefanie) Garbanati, Whit (Tiffani) Maxfield, Charli (Dustin) Skinner, Alisha (Kip) Jackson, Colton (Payton) Cornwall, and Logan (Josie) Cornwall and sister Marilyn Secrist. He was blessed with 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shauna; his beloved daughter, Debra Estep Maxfield; his parents; brothers Donald, Doug, and Odean Estep; sister Bonnie Estep Robbins Stevens; and many other cherished loved ones who welcomed him home.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at the Riverview Cemetery.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Our House Assisted Living and the Hospice Team for their kind, tender, and compassionate care of our beloved Dad and Grandpa.
