Lowell “Dean” Janssen, age 82 of Greenview, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Springfield Care Suites in Springfield, IL

Dean was born on March 3, 1943 the son of Herman and Elizabeth Janssen.

He married Nora McCool on October 16th, 1970. She preceded him in death in 2005.

Mourning his passing are his children, Stacie (Rusty) Skelton, Aaron (Amy) Janssen, Megan (Craig) Beiermann; nine grandchildren, Rachel (Ben), Clayton, Grace (Wes), Alex, Ashtyn, Abbi, Adalynn, Kaisley and Emberlie; and siblings, Ron (Bonnie), Dale, Allen (Karla), W.C. “Dub” (Mary Jo), Karen (Don) and Kevin (Jackie).

He was preceded in death by both parents.

Dean graduated from Middletown High School in 1961.

He was an avid farm toy collector for his entire life, a member of “Route 97 Cruisaders” and enjoyed his classic 1965 Mustang.

Visitation for Dean will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, IL. Graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Petersburg, IL immediately after the visitation.

Memorial contributions can be made to “Stitch N’ Go” at Laurel United Methodist Church.
