Lowell Larson, age 89, of Madison, SD, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his home in Madison.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Monday June 23, 2025, at First Lutheran Church, Colton, SD. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.
Visitation with family present will be Sunday, June 22nd from 5-7:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Colton, SD.
Lowell Larson was born August 16, 1935, the son of Eric and Helen (Tjaden) Larson on a farm rural route Hartford, SD. He went to country school for the first 3 years and moved to Sioux Falls in 1944. He graduated from Washington High in 1953.
He served six years in the South Dakota Air National Guard from 1958 to 1964. He worked for Jordan Millwork Co for 20 years. Lowell moved to a farm near Chester SD in 1973 and farmed. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Colton. He married Pauline DeBoer on November 1, 1980 in Sioux Falls.
Lowell always said that his cousin, Donald Tjaden, was like a big brother to him. He appreciated Donald’s guidance and positive influence throughout his entire life.
He is survived by his son, Kyle (Heidi) DeBoer; grandson, Nathan DeBoer; cousin, Linda (M. Scott) Burri and family; and many other cherished family and friends.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Eric and Helen Larson; wife, Pauline; Step-sister, Mary Lou Otten; “Cousin-Brother” Donald Tjaden, and many other family members.
