Loy Max Vanderpool, age 91, of Kirbyville, Missouri, peacefully passed away on September 26, 2025, at his home and is now in the arms of his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

He was born on June 19, 1934, at home on the family farm in Barry County, Missouri, to Orba E. and Martha A. (Downs) Vanderpool.

Loy is survived by his loving wife, celebrating 70 years of marriage together, Dorothy (McClure) Vanderpool; his children, Dayna (John) McCallum and Byron "Kent" (Lori) Vanderpool; and his four grandchildren, Nathan (Jenny Beth) McCallum, Kristen (Robert) Parrish, Garrett (Shelly) Vanderpool, and Matthew (Megan) Vanderpool. He is also cherished and remembered by his fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orba and Martha Vanderpool; his brothers, Wayne Vanderpool, Jess Vanderpool, and James Vanderpool; his sisters, Vivian Tucker, Dorothy Dell, Mary Lorene Howell, and Freida McWharter; and his son, Kevin Dale Vanderpool.

Leaving a legacy came naturally to Loy. He kept Christ at the center of his life and had an unquenchable thirst for God's Word. Loy was a faithful husband, a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Loy valued hard work and providing for his family. He began his career at Missouri Public Service in Kansas City, Missouri, and retired in 1989 after thirty years of service with Contel Telephone Company in Branson, Missouri, where he began as a lineman and finished his career as an engineer. Loy often said that God blessed him with a successful career and many good friends along the way.

He loved his church family and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Forsyth. Prior to making FBC Forsyth his home church, Loy belonged to First Baptist Church Branson for Forty years. Loy had a heart for those in need and a compassionate spirit to help in any way he could, whether lending a hand or giving financially. He was no stranger to generosity.

A celebration of life service will be held at First Baptist Church Forsyth on Tuesday, September 30, 2025:

10:00 a.m. Visitation

11:00 a.m. Service

12:00 p.m. Graveside Service at Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson, MO

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church Forsyth Benevolence Fund (P.O. Box 74, Forsyth, MO 65653) or the Missouri Baptist Children's Home (11300 St. Charles Rock Rd, Bridgeton, MO 63044).

The family thanks you for your prayers and support during this time of loss. God is faithful.
