Loyd was born on November 14, 1943, in Big springs, Texas to Maggie Laura Copeland and Johnny William McGary.
Loyd is survived by his 2 daughters Betty June Bass and Maggie Drake, of Killeen Texas, brother Floyd McGary of Sulpher Springs, Belle Edwards of Winnsboro, Texas and Barbara long of Madisonville, Texas. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth McGary, one brother and 5 sisters.
