Loyd Ray Wade

Loyd Ray Wade, age 89, of Deville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19,2025 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 19, 1936, to the late Iveryle and Donna Reed Wade.
A proud veteran, Loyd faithfully served his country in the United States Army during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. His bravery and sacrifice were recognized with the awarding of the Purple Heart.
By trade, Loyd was a welder, though he often joked that he was a "jack of all trades and master of none." He lived a life full of humor, hard work, and dedication. A man with a quick wit, Lloyd was known for his jokes, good advice, and his skill in the kitchen. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, who were his greatest treasure. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and his love for them knew no bounds.
Loyd enjoyed the simple pleasures in life-his Reece's cups and Snickers bars, his pets, time spent outdoors, and especially going to the camp, fishing, and running his boat. He was a faithful member and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, a community he held dear.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Allen Wade, his sisters Inez Breaud and Marie Box, his grandson Colby Knapp, and great-granddaughter Hannah Beth Nugent.
Loyd leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara Hines Wade; two daughters, Tonya LeBlanc of Deville and Lorraine (Eric) Skinner of Deville, and sons Alvin and Calvin Giddings. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tres( Amber) Nugent, Eric (Lindsay) Skinner, Savanna Knapp, Ashtyn Knapp, Skylar (TJ) Ponthieux, and Mitchell LeBlanc. He is also survived by two daughters from a previous marriage, Elizabeth Triche and Kimberly Gresham. Additionally he is survived by a host of nieces and nephews who he absolutely cherished.
Visitation will be held at Abundant Grace Church on Friday, September 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Bros. Glen Harigill and Tres Nugent. Honored to serve as active pall bearers are TJ Ponthieux, Greg Simmons, Eric Skinner, Shannon Hines, Kevin Price and Mitchell Leblanc. Honorary pall bearers will be Alvin and Calvin Giddings. Burial will follow at Abundant Grace Cemetery with full military and Masonic honors.
