It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Loyola "Lollie" Rebecca Garcia Palmer age, 78, in Durango, Colorado surrounded by her family. She was born on January 24, 1947 in Lumberton, New Mexico to Maria Cleofas and Preciliano Garcia.

Loyola began her professional journey immediately after earning her high school diploma, stepping into the workforce with determination and purpose. As the sole provider for her two beloved children, she devoted herself tirelessly to creating a stable and loving home, cherishing her role as a mother above all else.

Faith formed the cornerstone of Loyola's life. A devout Catholic, she dedicated much of her life as a faithful servant to St. Francis Catholic Church in Lumberton, New Mexico and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Dulce, NM. Her commitment to her church community reflected the same devotion she showed to preserving her family's legacy.

Loyola's life story is one of unwavering dedication — to her faith, her children and family, her work and her heritage. Her legacy lives on through the values she instilled and the love she shared so generously.

She is preceded in death by her beloved companion Thomas D. Zamora, her parents Maria Cleofas and Preciliano Garcia, her maternal grandparents Pedro and Soledad Martinez, her paternal grandparents Jose Ignacio and Juanita Martinez, her brothers Jose Ignacio, Preciliano, and Rafael, and her sisters Lucila Props, and Mary Lucero and three siblings who passed as infants.

Loyola is survived by her son Roy "Butch" Palmer and his wife Rachael of Pagosa Springs, CO, her daughter Preciliana "Pressi" Salido and her husband Francisco of Las Cruces, NM, her only surviving brother Amos Garcia (Leoda) of Bloomfield, NM, her grandchildren who she was known as "Grammie", are Jessica Caitlyn Caro (Rolando), Kristy Nicole Ponce De Leon (Roberto), Raul Ricardo Palmer (Emily), Reynaldo Christian Palmer (Ayano), Jennica Sara Bustamante (Valentin), Rachael Natalie Quezada (Eric), Jerrica Francisca Anderson (John), Anthony Luis Ayala and 24 great grandchildren, an abundance of nieces, nephews and cousins, God-children, and many friends.

Her life was a blessing and her memory a treasure. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Rosary with a Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday May 3, 2025 at 10:00am at St.

Francis Catholic Church located in Lumberton, New Mexico. A reception to follow. Interment of Ashes will be held at a later date.
