LuAnn Bramel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Chapel - Fort Smith on Dec. 26, 2025.
LuAnn Elizabeth Bramel was born on February 17, 1956, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to June and Fred Cook Jr. The youngest child in her family, she was lovingly known as "the baby" and was doted on by her sisters and brother. From a young age, LuAnn had a deep love for music and began singing early in life.

As she grew, LuAnn developed an even deeper love for God through careful study of the Bible. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 19, 1973, a decision that guided the rest of her life. Later that year, after some determined negotiations, she convinced her mother to allow her to marry the love of her life, Leo Bramel Jr. The two were married on December 19, 1973. Though only 17 years old, LuAnn had found her partner, and together they embarked on a lifetime of shared adventures.

By 1983, LuAnn and Leo were living in Alaska, where they welcomed their son, Beau. Because of Leo's work, the family traveled extensively before eventually settling in Fort Smith, Arkansas, which they came to call home.

LuAnn had a deep love for animals-especially cats-and found joy in being outdoors, tending her yard, sewing for friends and family, and spending cherished time with her two grandsons. One of her favorite traditions was taking walks with Leo whenever it snowed, moments that reflected the quiet joy they shared together.

Throughout her life, LuAnn remained devoted to studying the Bible and found great happiness in teaching others about Jehovah God. Her faith was a constant source of strength and purpose.

LuAnn passed away peacefully at home on December 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Leo Bramel; her son and daughter-in-law, Beau and Jennifer Bramel of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; her grandsons, Zachary Bramel and his wife Alivia of Jay, Oklahoma, and Joshua Bramel of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; her siblings, Gloria Towry and Penny McAllister of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sharon Snow of Hillsboro, Oregon, and Michael Cook of Sun City, California; as well as many other beloved relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 4711 Kelly Highway in Fort Smith, Arkansas, with Brother Wayne Hyman officiating.
