Rhonda Bramel Obituary
Rhonda was born in Decatur, IL. on February 23, 1955, the daughter of Darrell and Betty (Shartzer) Gist. She married Ronald Bramel in Taylorville, IL. on December 31, 1986. Rhonda retired from Taylorville School District after working in the cafeteria for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking cakes, spending time with her family and grandkids and shopping.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dennis and Danny Gist; and sister, Debra Gist.
Rhonda is survived by her husband, Ronald; children, Bryan (Jennifer) Bramel, Joshua Patrick and Brittany (Jake Gettings) Bramel; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Dylan) Tuxhorn, Dylan Bramel, Alex Loeser, Peyton (Padric O'Laughlin) Bramel, Ella Bramel, Brea Gist-Thomas, Brycen Gist-Thomas, Jakob Patrick, Carter Delahunty and Colby May; nieces Brandy Gist and Lindsay Chessare; nephews, Randy, RJ, and Ty Reynolds and Skyler Gist; brother, Robert Gist; honorary siblings, Linda Burchi, Robert Morgan, Diane Hamel, Becky Patton, and Betty Long, as well as many other extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral at 11:00AM at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home, 432 7th Street in Illiopolis. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Illiopolis.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, 1001 Highlands Plaza Drive West, Suite 140, St. Louis, MO 63110.
Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Illiopolis is in charge of arrangements.
