LuAnn Marie Morris, 69, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Monday, May 5th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
LuAnn was born on December 2, 1955, in Salina, Kansas, to Zelma (Glenn) and Adolph Jilka. She attended Emporia State University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Education. During her college years, she met Larry Morris, whom she married on April 28, 1979. They recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary.
After their marriage, LuAnn and Larry moved to Great Bend, where she worked in the food system for eight years. In 1988, they returned to Salina, where LuAnn dedicated 34 years to Hickory Hut.
LuAnn was renowned for her culinary skills, especially during the holiday season when she would bake an array of cookies and breads to share as gifts. Her passion for cooking was matched by her love for gardening, knitting, and solving puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Morris; two sons, Brian Morris (Amanda) and Brett Morris, both of Salina, Kansas; her brothers, Bob Jilka (Linda) of St. George, Utah, and Ken Jilka of Minot, North Dakota; her niece, Taylor Coad (Drew) of Salina, Kansas; and her nephew, Rob Jilka (Tammy) of Salina, Kansas. LuAnn also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Ryker Morris, Addisyn Morris, and numerous other friends and family.
LuAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Lyle Jilka, and her nephew, Ryan Jilka.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, Kansas, with Robert Conway officiating.
The family requests donations be made to Tammy Walker Cancer Center in Salina, Kansas in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
