Luanne Bump Obituary

Luanne June Bump

RUSHFORD - Luanne June Bump, of 9118 Gordonville Road, died Sunday (Jan. 5, 2025) in the Wyoming County Comm-unity Hospital SNF, Warsaw.

She was born March 29, 1933, in Sayre, Pa., a daughter of the late Lloyd and Cecile Cole Bump.

Luanne was a registered nurse and during her career she worked in several areas including Texas, New York City, Buffalo and Warsaw at Wyoming County Community Hospital. She was the Rushford sheriff for 32 years, a former employee of the Rushford Agway from 1968 to 1985, a Head Start bus driver from 1985 to 1990 and a founder of the Rushford Rescue Squad in 1969.

She loved her many cats and a couple of dogs but her greatest passion was helping people.

Surviving is a lifelong friend, Gail Buckland of Warsaw; her friend, Teresa Hubbard; a niece; and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Bump.

Burial will be in White Cemetery, Rushford.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore.
