Lucas Taylor Andrews "Luke", age 38, passed away December 5, 2024. Lucas was born January 4, 1986. He was an energetic and loving little boy who developed a deep passion for rock & roll. He picked up a guitar one day and slowly started teaching himself how to play; it became his longest favorite hobby. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and enjoyed a good crawfish boil.
On July 6, 2014 Lucas moved to Hendersonville, TN, where he moved into a Friend of Bills Recovery House to better his life. There he met a group of friends who quickly became his best friends who he considered his brothers. Tyler, Cody, Bobby, Byron, and Marshall were Lucas's life support for many years. Lucas became a part of Hendersonville's AA community where he had a huge impact on many in the fellowship.
When Lucas's children were born, he found a love like no other. He loved being a father to his beautiful children and any opportunity he had to take them out or do things with them, he jumped on it. He always said he worked hard so he could give his kids everything they could ever want or dream of. He was an amazing father and it shows in the love they have for him.
Lucas had a huge heart and a big smile to match it. He never met a stranger and would go out of his way to help anyone in need, no matter what. He was also a volunteer at the American Red Cross. Lucas loved construction and making beautiful homes. He and his partner, Coy Pence, worked together at their company, Rough Ashler Construction.
He was funny and loved to tell a good dad joke. If you knew Lucas, you had a friend for life. He had a love for people and his actions showed it daily. To know Lucas was to love Lucas. He will be missed by many but forgotten by none.
Preceded in death by his father, Joseph Michael Slade; paternal grandparents, Norma Jean Whisenant and Roger Whisenant; uncle, Robert "Bobby" Sucharsky; maternal grandparents, Catherine Mae Sucharsky and David R. Sucharsky; cousin, Jeffrey Miller.
Survived by his son, Jackson Chase Forst Andrews (mother, Erin Forbes); daughters, Lydia Taylor Andrews and Anna Kay Blackburn (mother, Shelly Jones); mother, Rosemary Salter; sister, Samantha (Zachary) Andrews-Layton; niece, Piper Mae Layton; brothers, Joshua (Emily) Andrews and Spencer Andrews; nephews, Beau and Wade Andrews; aunt, Rachel Whisenant; cousins, Daxton Whisenant, and Silas and Maisie Miller; aunt, Lauren Staggs; cousins, Audrey Simmerman, and Caitlyn and Madelyn Staggs; aunt, Kyra (Anthony) Demore; cousins, Donald, Daniel, and Allison Beck; girlfriend, Anastasia Fulgham and children, Charity and Isaac, Josh and Henry.
Visitation will be Friday, December 13th from 10am until the time of service at 12 noon at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home.
