Lucas Jordan Smith, 38, of Fort Myers, FL, and originally from Salina, OK, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 25, 1986, in Pryor, OK, Lucas lived a life filled with faith, music, and a deep love for those around him. Lucas had a heart for adventure, creativity, and service. As a talented musician, he played guitar and keyboard, wrote original songs, and had several albums of music ready to publish. His father instilled in him a love for music, and Lucas could pick up any instrument and bring it to life. He also had a passion for videography and filmmaking, with opportunities to work in the film industry. Whether through music or film, he found joy in creating and sharing his gifts with the world. Known throughout his college years for sharing the Light of Jesus, he was always eager to help others find their way to Christ. He loved leading worship at Johnson University, where he served as Class President for all four years, and he cherished mission trips with his parents to Ukraine. His kindness, leadership, and enthusiasm made an impact on everyone he met—even the turtles he once rescued from the campus pond. He had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved dogs, Bubba and Chubs, and he dreamed of breeding pugs and rescuing blind beagles. Lucas also had an infectious love for movies, board games, and performing. He participated in several high school musicals with the Christian School of Performing Arts and was part of a college production of Godspell. He loved his whole family. He enjoyed his sisters immensely, being crazy together, making videos and music, going on mission trips and camps, etc. He and they would make home schooling a comedic performance everyday. Lucas faced unimaginable hardship, suffering severe PTSD after surviving the Aurora, CO, theater shooting in 2012. In his final battle with cancer, he endured much, yet Satan did not have the last word. In his final moments, before his entire family, Lucas boldly reaffirmed his faith in Christ Jesus, claiming Him once again as his Savior. Surrounded by love, he requested worship songs to be played on guitar by his father and sister. He whispered to his mother that he was ready to go to Heaven and meet Jesus and, with great intention, through labored breaths, told his parents he loved them before departing for Home.

“Good night, my precious Lucas, my precious boy, I’ll see you in the Morning.” – Mommy and Daddy

Lucas is survived by his parents, Monte and Thea Smith; his sisters, Christal Haner, Danielle Smith, and Hannah Smith; his brother-in-law, Nick Haner; his niece, Elliana Haner; his nephews, Ethan and Isaiah Haner; and his grandmother, Yvonne Smith . He also leaves behind his cherished dogs, Bubba and Chubs, as well as his extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins across Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. Lucas was blessed with countless friends from New York to Florida, Ukraine, and around the world.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in the Freedom Baptist Church with Nick Haner officiating. Burial will follow in the Ross – Mayes Cemetery in Salina.
