Lucette J. Held (nee Fudaley), (1945-2026)

Lucette J. Held (81) of Lemont, Illinois passed away peacefully on March 9th surrounded by her husband, Robert G. Held, of 60 years and her children. Lucette was a loving mother to Steven (Elizabeth Kurr) Held, Gregory (Tracy) Held and Patrice (Robert) Neubert and a cherished grandmother to Clara and Ellory Neubert and Sara and Ethan Held.

Lucette was born in Chicago, Illinois to (the late) Solly and Irene Fudaley. She attended Clara Barton Elementary School and Maria High School, before studying chemistry at Northern Illinois University. After earning a Masters degree in chemical education, she was employed at South Suburban Community College for 31 years as a professor of chemistry.

Lucette was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing in the bell choir, attending spiritual fitness, and participating in bible study. Her hobbies included tennis, golf, and bowling and she enjoyed the creative arts, including calligraphy, quilting, sewing and playing piano. Lucette was a member of the PEO sisterhood and the founder of a book club, which has been active for 25 years. Lucette was blessed with many friends that she enjoyed.

Lucette’s most loved activities were being a mother and grandmother, supporting all her children’s endeavors.
