Lucia Frattaroli

Lucia "Cietta" Frattaroli, 96, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025. She was born in Settefrati, Italy on May 23, 1928 to the late Antonio and Antoinetta (Ciotti) Tamburro.
On May 1, 1949, Lucia married the love of her life, Giovanni Frattaroli, and they enjoyed a loving 72-year marriage before his passing in 2021. The marriage produced 3 children and 3 grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Lucia immigrated to the United States in the 1960's.
Lucia embraced her Italian culture with homemade pasta, homemade sauce and Sunday dinners with the family. Her famous "cruspulla" cookies were her trademark for every family party. Her greatest joy was her 3 grandchildren who she loved and adored.
Lucia had a strong Christian faith that led her to organize La Madonna di Canneto celebration every August at Sacred Heart Church, which originally began in her own backyard on Virgil Street. This tradition began over 40 years ago and still continues today. After the passing of her daughter Maria in 2014, Lucia initiated the All-Soul's Day Mass at St. Mary's Cemetery which continues today and is often celebrated by the Bishop of the Diocese.
Lucia is survived by her loving sons, Annunziato of Terryville, and John and his wife Marion of Stamford, as well as her grandchildren Isabella (Michael) Acampora, Nicholas, and John. She is also survived by her brothers Giuseppe (Stefanina) Tamburro, Gerardo (Josephine) Tamburro, her sisters Maria (Marco) Tamburro, Fernanda (Angelo) Raus, and sister-in-law Marianna Tamburro, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and daughter, Lucia was predeceased by her brother Fillippo Tamburro, her sister Luigia Tamburri and brother-in-law Orazio Tamburri.
Lucia's family would like to extend many thanks to mom's caregivers, Doris, Danielle and Kernita, who provided exceptional care of mom for more than 3 years. They were not only caregivers but became part of the family and we are forever thankful.
Family and friends may call at THOMAS M. GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 104 Myrtle Ave, Stamford (203)- 359-9999 on Thursday, March 20 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 21 at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave, Stamford. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 399 North Street, Greenwich.
