Lucia Wertz Obituary
Lucia Ann Wertz, 87, of North Charleston, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, March 23,2025.
Lucia was born in Spartanburg the daughter of the late Gordon Or Bowie and the late Minnie Leola Powell Bowie. She was also preceded in death by her husband: John Richard Wertz; and a nephew: J.J. Major.
She served her country with honor in the United States Air Force. Later she retired as a service technician with Major Business Machines. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories of Lucia are her sister: Janice Major; two stepsons: John and Michael Wertz; three step-grandchildren: John, Michael, and Cody; one great – step grandson: Tony; one nephew and two nieces: Milton Donald Major Jr, Tracy Major Hall, and Donna King.
The family will celebrate the life of Lucia Ann Wertz on Friday, April 11, 2025, with a graveside memorial service held at 12:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
The arrangements are entrusted into the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
