Cochran – Luciana "Lucy" Dixon, age 84, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in Bowers Cemetery.
"Lucy" was born on May 26, 1940, in Naples, Italy, to the late Emelia Sandrino. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Donnie Ray Dixon and her brother, Salvatore Sabella Bracale. Lucy grew up in Naples Italy. Before she moved to the United States, Lucy worked as a prenatal nurse in Venice, Italy. She and Donnie moved around with his job in the United States Air Force. After his retirement, they moved to Cochran. Lucy worked and retired from Lithonia Lighting. She was a big animal lover and had numerous pets. Lucy loved her family, especially her 2 daughters and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Dixon Daniels and Diane (Sandy) Boutwell of Cochran; grandchildren, Blake (Renee) Wynne of Pratville, AL and Mya Boutwell of Cochran; great grandchildren, Sophia Wynne, Madeline Wynne, Hudson Easterling and Henley Esterling all of Pratville, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bleckley Memorial Hospital and Amedisys Hospice for the love, care and support they showed to Mrs. Lucy and the family.
The family is at 133 Morris Drive, Cochran and will greet friends after the service Saturday at Bowers Cemetery.
