Lucila Quintero Gonzales, de 69 años, de Corsicana, falleció en su residencia con su familia a su lado, el 20 de septiembre de 2025. Nació el 31 de octubre de 1955 en Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, México, hija de José Cornelio Quintero y María Reyes Gonzales. A Lucila le sobreviven su amado esposo de 52 años, Roberto García Bocanegra y sus hijos: Maricela García, Hilario García, Juana María García, Roberto García, Filemón García, Sandra García, María De Lourdes Cervantes y María Leticia Vargas, junto con sus cónyuges. Era una orgullosa abuela de 34 nietos y bisabuela de 8 bisnietos. Fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres. Lucila vivió una vida llena de amor, fe y servicio a los demás. Era una católica devota, fiel hasta su último aliento. Le encantaba cocinar, cuidar a sus nietos y era conocida por anteponer siempre las necesidades de los demás a las suyas. Lucila era amable, generosa y muy querida por su familia y respetada en toda su comunidad. Tenía un corazón para ayudar a los demás y dejó un legado de compasión y generosidad. Se rezará un rosario el martes 23 de septiembre de 2025 en la funeraria Griffin-Roughton a partir de las 6:00 p.m., y las visitas seguirán hasta las 8:00 p.m. Se llevará a cabo una misa de entierro cristiano a las 10:00 a.m. el miércoles 24 de septiembre de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica de la Inmaculada Concepción. El entierro seguirá en el Cementerio Católico Calvary. Los portadores del féretro serán Hilario García, Roberto García Bocanegra, Filemón García, Juan Francisco Torres, Jesús Hilario García y Roberto García Bocanegra. Lucila Quintero Gonzales, age 69, of Corsicana, passed away at her residence with her family by her side, on September 20, 2025. She was born on October 31, 1955, in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Jose Cornelio Quintero and Maria Reyes Gonzales. Lucila is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Roberto Garcia Bocanegra and by her children: Maricela Garcia, Hilario Garcia, Juana Maria Garcia, Roberto Garcia, Filemon Garcia, Sandra Garcia, Maria De Lourdes Cervantes, and Maria Leticia Vargas, along with their spouses. She was a proud grandmother to 34 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Lucila lived a life filled with love, faith, and service to others. She was a devoted Catholic, faithful until her last breath. She loved cooking, caring for her grandchildren, and was known for always putting the needs of others before her own. Lucila was kind, giving, and well-loved by her family and respected throughout her community. She had a heart for helping others and left behind a legacy of compassion and generosity. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 p.m., with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hilario Garcia, Roberto Garcia Bocanegra, Filemon Garcia, Juan Francisco Torres, Jesus Hilario Garcia, and Roberto Garcia Bocanegra.
