Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Lucila Martinez, 93, of Brownsville, TX. She was a mother, grandmother, and friend whom entered into eternal rest on July 29th, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Veracruz, Mexico on September 28, 1931.

She is preceded in death by her husband Mauro Martinez, and her daughter Carmina Martinez.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Romelia Garza (Arturo Garza+), her granddaughters Miriam Gabriela Garza, Marcela Garza, Jessica De Luna (Jay De Luna) and her great granddaughter Janelle De Luna. She will be greatly missed.

Lucila was a vibrant woman with a passion for knitting, crocheting and oil painting. She was known for being a steel magnolia; she had a very quick-witted humor.
