Lucille Virginia Brooks

Lucille Virginia Brooks, age 99, of the Lick Run community, Buckhannon, died Sunday, February 1, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born on August 27, 1926, in Jacox, Pocahontas County, WV, a daughter of the late Benjamin Peter and Mae Susan Sizemore Boggs. On October 24, 1947, she was united in marriage to Manzel Clyde Brooks, who preceded her in death on August 14, 2019. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three sisters: Eula Tharp, Hallie Hawkins, and Arlene Gould; and one brother Oscar Tharp. She is survived by three sons: James C. Brooks of Nutter Fort, John E. Brooks of Goldvine, VA, and Robert W. Brooks of Weston; four grandchildren: Jeffrey C. Brooks, Jamie L. Seibert, Joseph Brooks, and Samantha Brooks; three great grandchildren: Miranda, Abigail, and Kylie Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brooks had been a member of the French Creek UMC.

A graveside service and interment will be held at the French Creek Presbyterian Cemetery and due to inclement weather will be announced at a later date.
