Lucille R. (Cormier) Cayer, age 88, a resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully at Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Lowell on Sunday, October 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of late Richard A. Cayer, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2021.
She was born in Lowell on May 4, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Edward L. Cormier, Sr. and Emilie M. Cormier.
Lucille was raised in Lowell and was a proud graduate of Lowell High School. In her early years, she worked as a shoemaker in Lowell, where she developed a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Later in life, she relocated to Florida, where she was employed at the Rosen Plaza Center in Orlando as a Convention Decorator. Lucille took great pride in her work and enjoyed contributing to the many events and gatherings that brought people together.
In her leisure time, Lucille enjoyed traveling on cruises, playing bingo, visiting casinos, and solving crossword puzzles. She was also a proud member of the Dom Polski Club in Lowell.
Lucille is survived by her loving children; Nancy Veiga and her husband Manny of Tewksbury, Linda Morrissette of Dracut, Karen Finch and her husband Mark of Lowell, Michael Cayer and his partner Sylvian Codere of Lowell and Susan Hamilton and her husband Jeff of Florida, her grandchildren; Jason Veiga and his partner, Jenn and Kim Veiga and her partner, Billy, Anthony Tourville and his wife, Kristen, Christopher Michalik and his wife, Sarah, Marc Finch and his wife, Kelly, Nicole DeJesus and her husband, Gio, Felicia Makinson and her wife, Lacey, Sabrina Morales, Chris Marion, and Jennifer Hamilton: her great-grandchildren; Jordan, Timmy, Jake, Chloe, Brooke, Christian, Jaydianna, Jaylynn, Jaydalee, Evan, Keira, Ryder, Mateo, and Justin.
She also leaves her brother, Edward Cormier, Jr, and his wife Lorraine of N. Chelmsford and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lucille was predeceased by her parents, Edward L. Cormier, Sr. and Emilie M. Cormier and her siblings, Charlie, Leo, Robert, Alfred, George, Frank, Irene, Theresea (Jean), Alice, Ruth and Ann: great-great-granddaughter, Jenna.
The family would like to thank the staff of Northwood Rehabilitation Center who lovingly cared for Lucille.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 115 Wheeler Rd., Dracut. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.
Memorial donations may be made in Lucille's memory to a charity of choice.
