Lucille "Cele" Chrestensen, 79, of Morehead City, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Cherry Point Bay Nursing Home.
Cele was born in western New York and spent most of her young life there, where she met her husband, Lou. They eventually moved the family to North Carolina until retirement. Cele and Lou then moved to Florida for a time before moving back to NC to be closer to two of their children and grandchildren.
She was a life-long Christian and loved Jesus. Upon moving to Morehead City, she became a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Newport, NC. She had a servant's heart, especially helping those in need. She enjoyed camping adventures with her family and friends. She loved all animals, but especially her horses, which she had as a young girl and later in life during retirement. She was very creative and loved interior decorating and had a wonderful artistic ability.
Though Cele was a graduate of Rochester Business Institute and a certified bookkeeper, most her married life was devoted to the care of her husband, children and home. She had various office manager positions outside the home after her youngest child, David, was in school.
She is survived by her son, Scott Chrestensen of Louisville, MS; daughter, Jennifer Potts and husband, J.D. of Morehead City, NC; son, Paul Chrestensen and wife, Mandy of Henderson, NC; grandchildren, Braden, Austine, Amanda, Erika, Sam, Austin, and Harlie; brother, Douglas and wife, Joy of NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mildred; husband, Robert Chrestensen; son, David Chrestensen.
A memorial service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, Newport, NC on Thursday, March 3, at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Dementia Alliance of NC at dementianc.org
