Kingsford-Lucille R. DallaValle, 100, moved on to her eternal life peacefully and in the comfort of her Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2025
Lucy was born on July 15, 1924, on her family farm on Chapman Road in Niagara Township, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Pellegrini) DallaValle and sister of Cipriano "Zippy" DallaValle.
Lucy was proud of her upbringing and heritage. She was raised with Faith, Family, and Friends that became family. She attended the Moreau School, which was a one-room school, and was taught by Mrs. Cretton for 8 years before moving on to the Niagara High School. Lucy graduated from high school in 1942 and then went on to receive her B.S. in Education from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She knew at age 6 that she wanted to teach English, Latin, and Spanish. Lucy always expressed that her most meaningful language was the "unspoken language that passes from the heart of one person to that of another."
She started her career in Niagara. After one year and with much encouragement from her superintendent, she accepted a job in Sheboygan, where she established a life of helping others and supporting many of the charitable causes in her community. Lucy has been recognized as Teacher of the Year and has plaques and bricks scattered across the streets of Sheboygan. All these were meaningful to her, but she never forgot about the underdog or the less fortunate in her community. Her 40-plus years teaching in the schools left her with so many fond memories and special friendships she talked about so often. Lucy cherished teaching Mexican dance class and traveling with her dance group.
Lucy continuously explored and shared her experiences with her students and friends. She was most proud of connecting with her Italian cousins in Italy. Lucy made several trips to visit, traveling with her American cousins. It was very important for her to pass on that connection. She also traveled to Mexico and made strong connections and lifetime friendships.
Lucy moved back home in 2017 to Victorian Pines and later to Evergreen Assisted Living in Kingsford. With her humor, she entertained many of the staff at both facilities.
If you had the opportunity to sit with Lucy and hear her stories and experiences in life, you know what a gift it was to have known her. She was a genuine small-town lady with a huge heart and a smile we will always remember.
Lucy left these words to share Thank you to the Lord for blessing me with two wonderful parents, grandparents, relatives/family-both paternal and maternal uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and students.
Lucy leaves behind her cousins from her DallaValle-Pellegrini family and friend/family she welcomed into her life over the years. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to express a special thank you to all the caregivers in Lucy's life. You know who you are. She loved everyone and was so appreciative of all of you.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Marty Flynn will officiate. Burial will take place in Norway Cemetery, Norway, Mich.

Lucy was a long-time member of AAUW. At our September brunch, we plan to honor her. We are wondering if there are relatives we could invite to attend?
