Lucille "Lucy" Marjorie Griffiths died peacefully in her sleep on Monday Nov. 4. She was loved by her husband, children, grandchildren, and their families.
The daughter of John and Hazel McDonald of Gratiot, WI. She married the love of her life, David Griffiths in July of 1957.
She began her teaching career at the Brannan County School # 6 and completed 25 years at Lincoln School after moving with David to St. Charles, IL. She prided herself on teaching hundreds of 1 graders to read.
Lucy and David loved to travel all over the US throughout the years, even taking a Caribbean cruise to celebrate their retirement from teaching. Her favorite place was Las Vegas where they had vacationed more than 50 times in the 66 years of marriage. They enjoyed every moment together.
"Nanny" as she was called by her grandchildren and great grandchildren was loved dearly. She was always cooking and baking her famous Mint Brownies, Angel Food cakes and Mashed Potatoes for the family and parties. She always had her Diet Coke by her side with extra ice! Nanny loved playing games and reading to ALL of her grand kids, especially playing checkers and card games.
Lucy and David were 50+ year St. Charles Moose members. Enjoying all the fun with their friends, family and always attending the Pig Roasts, Sunday Bingo, and especially the Super Bowl Parties.
Lucille was a devote Catholic, never missing a Sunday Mass or Holy Day!
If we are perfect, we no longer need God. God wants us toned him. 1 Rainbow signifies heaven and earth are joined. Prayer of thanks for everything been given-for everything I'm about to receive and for having God in my life. Start each day by enjoying nature.
