Lucille M. Lipke, age 90, of Waupaca, passed away peacefully at home, with family at her side, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. She was born in the Town of St. Lawrence on March 6, 1935 to the late Marvin and Mildred (Polley) Flater. On August 1, 1953, she was united in marriage to Clarence Lipke and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2012.
For over 37 years, Lucille worked at various grocery stores, retiring from Piggly Wiggly as a meat wrapper. While her children were growing up, she made many clothes for them. She was renowned for baking cookies at Christmas time. Lucille always had a garden where she grew a variety of vegetables; she like to can all of her produce as well as can meats. She loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lucille is survived by her children: Beatrice "Bea" Button, Burnell "Al" (Julie) Lipke, and Mary Shanak, all of Waupaca; grandchildren: Mark (Nicole) Lipke, Jessica (Clayton) Haffner and Michael (Athena) Shanak IV; and great grandchildren: Gavin Lipke, Riley Lipke, August Haffner and Michael Shanak V.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons-in-law: Jerald "Jerry" Button and Mike Shanak III; and great grandson, Collin Lipke.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2025 at Calvary Lutheran Church, E1887 King Rd, Waupaca, with Rev. Brian Roehrborn officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Lind Center Cemetery.
