Mr. Lucius Weaver
Sunrise: August 15, 1935 - Sunset: October 2, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Mr. Lucius Weaver of Sardis announces his peaceful passing on October 2, 2025, at Brentwood Rehab and Skilled Nursing in Waynesboro. He was 90 years old.
Lucius was born in the Barcamp community of Burke County, the son of Annie Lee Weaver and Casey Habersham. At 14 he left home to work in Canada, then returned to live with his mother Annie Lee, his stepfather Napoleon Fluellen, and his brother Grady. At 18 he moved to Boston, where his aunt Jessie Mae Burnett welcomed him into her home and introduced him to her brothers Curtis, Robert, and Vinson Weaver.
He worked as a cab driver and at the BFGoodrich factory before a long career with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, rising to the post of Inspector in rapid transit station operations. He made his home for many years at 536 Park Street in Dorchester, was a regular at Franklin Park, and a proud member of the T Club in Mattapan.
Lucius was first married to Mildred Neal, mother of Jeffery; later to Linda Lynn, mother of Rodney and Jason Jamaal; and in 1987 he married Caletha "Carol" Weaver, with whom he shared nearly four decades of partnership. Carol's four children - Tetia Williams, Desta Williams, Jeffrey Williams, and Timothy Williams - became Lucius's stepchildren. He returned permanently to Sardis in 2004 to care for his mother and thereafter embraced her welcoming demeanor and was well liked by neighbors.
He was predeceased by his parents Annie Lee Fluellen and Casey Habersham; his brother Grady Weaver; and his siblings Jessie, Katie Mae, Ernest, Cleveland, and Joseph.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
• Wife: Caletha "Carol" Weaver
• Sons: Jeffery Weaver; Rodney Weaver; Jason Jamaal Weaver
• Daughters in law: Tracey Forde Weaver; Erica Gibson Weaver
• Stepchildren: Tetia Williams; Desta Williams; Jeffrey Williams; Timothy Williams
