On June 2, 2024, at the age of 87, Lucretia Rebecca Knable Somers went to eternal rest next to her beloved husband of 60 years, Warren G. Somers, Sr.
Lucretia was the first-born child of Charles and Florine (Cornelius) Knable on August 19, 1936, in Allenport, PA. She graduated in June 1955 from Captain Jack High School in Mt. Union, PA. On June 26, 1954, she married her forever love, Warren, and was blessed with a long and devoted marriage.
She is survived by her children: Wayne G. (Nancy) Somers of Middletown, PA, Rebecca C. Somers of Cleveland, TN, and Ruthie C. (Mark) Gabrovsek of Bellefonte, PA; daughter in-law, Sharon Somers of Bellefonte, PA; five grandchildren: Duane (Sherri) Somers, Julia (Andrew) Crone, Kelly (Jared) Weis, Ashley Somers, and R. Jaeden Gabrovsek; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth (Sue) Knable, as well as many extended family members and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Lucretia was preceded in death by her oldest son, Warren G. Somers, Jr.; one great granddaughter and two brothers.
Lucretia was an active Christian from her childhood through her years singing, playing the accordion/organ/piano, teaching and leading bible studies, cleaning churches, board member/treasurer/secretary, and "first lady" in the ministry with her spouse 1982-2014. She was a member of the Church of God headquartered in Cleveland, TN, attended the First Baptist Church in Bellefonte until her decline
in health made it impossible to attend.
After her first child was born in November of 1955, Lucretia was a very loving and devoted wife and mother for 17 years before joining the work with her husband in 1971.
She was the co-owner of Warren's TV & Appliances from 1971-1982, and "First Lady" in the ministry from 1982-2014.
Most known for her passion to music, she was well loved by so many young people as one of the Bald Eagle Area Band Front Advisors. Lucretia and Warren enjoyed many family vacations, church camp meetings, and reunions together.
Viewing will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 201 Spring St. Milesburg, PA. There will be 2nd viewing on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 10-11am at the First Baptist Church, 539 Jacksonville Rd, Bellefonte. The funeral service will follow at 11am at the church with Pastor Greg Shipe officiating. Interment will be private to the family at Mount Nebo Cemetery near Mt. Union, PA
In lieu of flowers, all contributions in the memory of Lucretia may be made to the First Baptist Church, 539 Jacksonville Rd, Bellefonte, PA 16823 and will be used toward the music and the child-ministries, which were meaningful to her.

I send my prayers to your family at the home-going of Lucrecia. She and Warren were long time friends in ministry in PA. We were able to write back and forth after Warren´s death May God bless you is my prayer.
