Jerome G. "Jerry" Fenush, Sr., 77, of Zion, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 19, 1948, in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late George and Verna (Bunyak) Fenush, Sr. On September 19, 1970, in Clarence, he married the love of his life, Joan M. Ciprich, who survives at home.
Jerry was a 1965 graduate of West Branch Area High School. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army, attaining the rank of SP5. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle) before being honorably discharged on March 20, 1970.
For 49 dedicated years, Jerry worked as an HVAC technician for Joseph C. Hazel Plumbing and Heating, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
Jerry lived a life rooted in simplicity and joy. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and took great pride in maintaining a meticulous lawn. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and helping others with projects big and small. He was always up for a "friendly" card game with his family and friends.
Above all, Jerry cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan, and their three sons: Jerome G. "Jerry" Fenush, Jr. (Marise) of Delaware, Jason E. Fenush (Michele) of Zion, and Jeffrey A. Fenush (Lauren) of Kentucky. Jerry was the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren: Cortney, Sara, Nathan, Emily (Brian), Mitchel, Jordan, Laura, Parker, Samantha, and Charlie June, and one great-granddaughter, Delilah.
Also surviving are his brother, Edward Fenush of State College; and five sisters: Marlene Gmerek (Joe) of Elizabethtown, Marion Kephart (Clete), Veronica Craven (Jerry), Betty Ruggiero, and Annie Myers, all of Philipsburg.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, George Fenush, Jr. of Drifting.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PMat Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe, with a Rosary service beginning at 7:45 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Queen of Archangels Parish Church in Clarence, with Father Brian Saylor officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Severin Catholic Cemetery in Drifting.
