Roger W. Heverly, 59, of Howard, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Born on August 5, 1965, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late John W. and Mary June (Lucas) Heverly.

Roger was a 1983 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and also earned a certificate in cabinet making that same year from the Centre County Vo-Tech. Shortly after graduation, he began working at Spectra Wood in State College as a cabinet maker-a position he held with pride and dedication throughout his life.

A skilled and passionate craftsman, Roger brought creativity and care to every project, whether at work or at home. From tables to barstools, to Lazy Susans and beyond, there was little he couldn't build.

An avid outdoorsman, Roger had a deep love for hunting and cherished time spent in the woods with family and friends each season. He also enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, relaxing at the ball fields, and playing cornhole and horseshoes. He was of the Protestant faith.

Roger lived a simple, meaningful life, surrounded by those he loved most. He especially treasured the lifelong bonds he shared with his closest friends-Chad "Bull" Bathurst of Blanchard, Mark "Conrail" Kline of Beech Creek, and Barry Tressler of Marsh Creek. To Roger, they were more like brothers, and their loss is immeasurable.

He is survived by his brother, Gary L. Heverly, and wife Sharon of Blanchard; nieces and nephews Kelly (Jerry) Zedek, Holly (Chris) Meinke, Gary (Chasity) Heverly, Michelle (Chris) Ranio, and Eric Heverly; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved feline companion, Missy the cat.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Steven J. "Pete" Heverly.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Milesburg. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Dan Longmore officiating. Burial will be private at Schencks Cemetery in Howard Township.

Arrangements are under the care of Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc., in Milesburg. An online guestbook is available, and condolences may be shared at www.daughenbaughfuneralhome.com.
