Kenneth J. Fitzgerald, 81, of Bellefonte, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Born January 22, 1944, in Howard, he was the son of the late Leo and Florence (Lucas) Fitzgerald. On June 27, 1964, he married the love of his life, Judy A. Fye, at Moshannon United Methodist Church. Ken was her "Wild Irishman". They shared 64 devoted years together, and she survives at home.

Ken was a 1963 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He had a lot of fond memories from high school, but the best was meeting the love of his life. He spent his career in the Trades Department at Corning Glass Works in State College, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service.

In his younger years, Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a lifelong passion for working with his hands and could often be found tinkering in his basement or garage, always fixing or building something. A true fan of classic Westerns, Ken rarely passed up the chance to relax in front of his favorite films.

Ken was proud to be a father and even prouder to be a Pappy. He cherished every moment spent with his family and always looked forward to hearing about their lives. He was extremely proud of all their accomplishments and would want nothing but the very best for each of them.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Judy; three daughters: Regina Bowers (Ken) of Julian, Cinnamon Hosterman (Michael) of Orrtanna, and Shannon Dennison (James) of Waynesboro. He is also survived by five cherished grandchildren: Sean (Stacy) and Kayla Hosterman, and Willow, Ava, and Owen Dennison.

One of the most profound moments in Ken's life was the loss of his beloved son, Matt. In Matt, he lost not only a son, but his best friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth "Matt" Fitzgerald; one brother, Raymond Fitzgerald; and two sisters, Nancy Fitzgerald and Leonore Shirk.

In keeping with Ken's wishes, all services will be private. He will be laid to rest beside his son at Fairview Cemetery in Boggs Township.

Arrangements are under the care of Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc., in Milesburg, PA. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.daughenbaughfuneralhome.com.
