Mildred Roberts Fitzgerald

Mildred Roberts Fitzgerald, age 108, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Fayetteville, Georgia. Born in Ben Hill, Georgia, on September 17, 1917, Mildred was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a devoted friend to many. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Mildred was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Neil Fitzgerald, and her five siblings. Her memory will be cherished by her surviving family: daughters Kaye Stanfield (Lynn), Carol Pruett (Charles), son Greg Fitzgerald, daughter Lynne Garrett (Bob); grandchildren Todd Stanfield (Tonya), Laura Rueckel (Ryan), Nataleigh Garrett and Robbie Garrett; and great-grandchildren Erin Rueckel, Ashley Rueckel, and Chase Stanfield, who will strive to carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Mildred will be remembered for her beauty, warmth, grace, and unwavering love. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to Southern Grace Hospice for their years of care and support and to all her wonderful and loving caregivers who gave so much of themselves. A funeral service to honor Mildred's life will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation beginning at 11:00 at the church. Interment will take place at Westview Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that gifts to honor Mildred be made to the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, 175 East Lanier Ave., Fayetteville, GA 30214.
