Lucy Jeanette Riley Adkisson, 78, of Jackson formerly of East Prairie passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Her loving family surrounded her as she went to her heavenly home.
She was born June 20,1946, to the late Clifton and Earlene Nolen Riley in Deventer, Missouri on the family farm. She graduated from Anniston High School in 1963.
Lucy had been employed with Marshall Farms and Eddie Marshall for over 37 years. She retired in 2022 and moved to Jackson to be with her daughter and grandsons.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie. Lucy was steadfast and strong in her love of Jesus.
Lucy is survived by her daughter, Kim (Shannon) Bowles; grandsons, Bobby (Jen) Bowles, Cody (Courtney) Bowles and Trevor (Karlie) Bowles. The love of her life, her great grandchildren: Emma, Anna, Victoria, Riley, Kambri, Michael, Abigail, Payton, Olivia, Lucy, Ashtyn and Maggie.
Also surviving are her sisters, Alice Thurstin, Mary Faye (Harry) Gosche and Sue Chatman; brothers, Dennis and Alvin Riley; many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ray, Ronnie Lee, Russell, and Melvin; sisters, Dorris, Joyce and Sally.
The visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Lucy's nephew Rev. Rob Gillgrist will conduct the funeral service at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The pallbearers will be Shannon, Bobby, Cody and Trevor Bowles, Scott Riley and Eddie Marhsall.
The family suggests that contributions be made to church or charity of the donor's choice.
