Lucy Anderson Obituary
Lucy Anderson passed away on March 7, 2025, in Batavia, IL. She was born on December 17, 1932 to Dominick and Lucy LaRooka in Geneva, IL. She was married to Robert Anderson on November 3, 1951 in Geneva.
Lucy had three children, Amy (James) Gorski, Bruce (Kenna) Anderson, and David (Suzy) Anderson. She was very proud of her 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and would brag about them to her many friends at the Holmstad as well as to her wonderful caregivers. She was predeceased by Bob, her husband of 69 years, and by her beloved grandson, David Davenport.
She met her future husband, Bob Anderson, at Geneva High School and always said she was in love with him from the first time she saw him. Having come from a family of 9 and a neighborhood full of friends and relatives, she was still able to adjust to a much different lifestyle on the farm west of Batavia where she lived for 50 years. She made her own mark there by constantly beautifying the old farmhouse and surroundings to make it a wonderful home for her kids.
She was a strong advocate for all her kids and grandkids, becoming involved in their activities and supporting their endeavors. She was a loving and sympathetic mother who always would give caring advice to her children when they were having problems. Her kids would tease her about how much she worried about them, to the point that when she ran out of things to worry about, she would fret that she wasn’t being told everything. It was a byproduct of her deep love for her family –a virtue that became the greatest legacy that she passed on to them.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 15, 2024, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. followed immediately by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva IL.
In lieu of flowers, Lucy would have wanted you to donate to your favorite charity.
