Lucy Hamlett Obituary
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings: Evelyn Johnson, Roderick Thomas, Godfrey Thomas, Kohel Thomas, Isrell Thomas, Oswald Thomas, Eldorado Thorpe, Ashton Thomas, William David Thomas, Effie Olivia Ford, Garland Thomas, Edward Thomas, Ella Louise Thomas and Alexander Thomas.
She leaves to cherish precious memories, her husband, Samuel Hamlett of the home; children: Darius Nelson (Anne) of Roxboro, North Carolina; Tonya Hamlett and Tanella Hamlett, both of Durham, North Carolina; grandchildren: LeDarius Nelson (Keelea), also of Roxboro, Jarrod Nelson and Justin Nelson, both of Fayetteville, North Carolina; great-grandchild, Zayden Nelson; a brother, Andrew Thomas (Wilhemenia) of Durham; sisters-in-law: Martha Thomas of Pikesville, Maryland, Jean Thomas of Durham, Geraldine Thomas of Roxboro and Pauline Hamlett and Addie Hamlett, both of Timberlake, North Carolina; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 1:00pm at the St. Paul Holy Church, 1010 St. Paul Church Road, Roxboro, North Carolina 27574, with the Reverend Angela Dones, Pastor, providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:00pm to 6:00pm with the family present during the last hour from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Her body will lie in state Thursday at the church from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at 1271 Lawson Chapel Church Road, Roxboro, North Carolina 27574.
