Lucy was raised in a large, colorful family where her parents, Charles Mills Marlatt and Jean Ann Marlatt (Davis) shared their love of history, culture, art and music with their eleven children. Lucy had a passion for antiques, and was known to drag her young children to auctions all around rural Ohio in rain or shine. She had an artist's eye and her home was beautifully decorated with beloved antiques and family artwork.
Besides history and antiques, Lucy's greatest love was for animals, especially cats, although she also opened her home to a little dog who was quickly accepted by all the household felines.
Lucy was a gifted athlete as a teenager and was ranked nationally in platform diving, she competed in the US Olympic Trials in 1964 and placed 16th. As an adult she played tennis and golf and she had the energy of a person much younger than herself. She had a successful career in sales, often in fields that were dominated by men such as, motorcycle accessories and later, hydraulics and pneumatics. Ultimately, it was her work with homeless animals that gave her life purpose and her own animals that brought her the most joy. It's no doubt that she brought joy to countless animals. She was a fun-loving person and had a great sense of humor. Lucy was always up for an adventure or a good giggle session!
Lucy is survived by her daughters Christina M. Hartsock and Carmen L. Osenbaugh (Cory), grandchildren Nash Osenbaugh and Ginger Osenbaugh, beloved siblings Charles Marlatt (Rebecca Slisher), Jean Henry (Jim), Amy Marlatt, Ruth Marlatt, Megan Marlatt (Richard Robinson), Tommy Marlatt (Mary Kay) and Jon Marlatt, nieces and nephews Patrick Henry (Natalie), Amy Henry, Sam Marlatt, Bronwen Harris, Chris Becker, Jason Marlatt, Remy Marlatt, Rees Marlatt Jr., Phillip Marlatt, Jubal Marlatt (Suzy), Jean Miller (William) and Matthew Perry (Heather). Lucy is preceded in death by her parents Charles & Jean Marlatt, brother Rees Marlatt, and sisters Michele Marlatt and Mary Marlatt.
May She Rest In Peace.
