Lucy Vorick, 92, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025. She was born in Chicago on December 14, 1932, to her Italian immigrant parents, Angelo and Anna (Amabile) Racine.
Lucy led an active and social life. She enjoyed tennis, golf, roller skating, and pickleball. She was a dedicated volunteer, serving as treasurer for the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry. She was also a proud member of "The Over the Net Gang" and Parents Without Partners, where she met her husband, George Vorick. They were married on June 7, 1986, in Lombard, IL. George preceded Lucy in death on May 2, 2023.
Lucy was outgoing, family-oriented, and giving, always engaging with her community and loved ones.
Survivors include her children, Thomas Sidor of Streamwood, IL, and Judy Altman of Crystal Lake, IL; stepchildren, Robert (Cheryll) Vorick of Cary, Catherine Vorick of Chapel Hill, NC, and Liz (William) Holt; grandchildren, Sarah (Joe) Tasic of Crystal Lake, grandsons David Vorick of Port St. Lucie, FL, Josh Vorick of Newark, CA, and Ari (Jeff) Holt of Salt Lake City, UT; and great-grandchildren, Kayley and Noah Tasic.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Anna Racine; and her brother, Anthony Racine.
A Mass will be held on Thursday, February 13, at 10:30 a.m., with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 410 North First St., Cary, IL 60013.
