Sister Lue Henry Pride Davis of Tampa, FL passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 5001 Cumberland Drive, Tampa, FL 33617, Rev. R.A. Polk, Pastor, Officiating/Eulogist.
Sister Lue Henry Pride Davis was born on June 17, 1940, in Tallahassee, Florida to the parents of Henry Pride and Rose Lawerence Solomon. Lue was an active member of Bethel AME Church of Tampa, Florida from childhood. She served in many capacities teaching in Church School, Steward Board, summer camp reading program, food pantry, Mass Choir, WMS, and past President of Bethel's LAY organization.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Josh Brown; daughter, Gail Davis Lee; and brother, Henry W. Pride. Her family members greeted her at heaven's door upon her arrival.
She is survived by: her son, Gary Antonio Davis; grandchildren mourning her departure are, LaVar Rosoboro, Ebony Davis, Ciara Davis, Dreama Davis, and Tonesha Davis; her great-grandchildren include, Jeremiah, Antonio, Tyrone, Ty'rionna, Tyree, Chaise, LaVar Jr., Kione, Zylla and Paris; loving sisters, Joann Stubbs, Kay Francis Long, and Hazel Davison were the wind beneath her wings; her beloved trusted cousin, Brenda Lindsay; her adopted family members, Myeshia Van Blount, Kiara, Jayden, and Ryan; her church family who she loves dearly; and a host of other family and friends.
