LueVerna Shepherd Obituary LueVerna Shepherd, 82, of Union Mills, passed away on June 30, 2022, in Valparaiso, surrounded by family. She was born on July 30, 1939, in Salyersville, Kentucky, to Lurman and Eliza (Eldridge) White, who both preceded her in death. On December 31, 1956, she married Kenny Shepherd who survives her. LueVerna worked for over 20 years at South Central School as a cook before she retired. She had many hobbies she enjoyed including crocheting, quilting and doing word searches. She is survived by her daughter Sandy (Jerry) Werner of Union Mills and sister Madeline (Herlus) Cole, of Kentucky. She is also survived by; 4 grandchildren Adam (Tricia) Werner, Joe (Krystal) Werner, Cindy (Mike) Charizopolus, and Steven Shepherd, and 6 great-grandchildren Tennley, Peyton, Violet, Lincoln, Evelyn, and Theo. LueVerna was preceded in death by her son Steve Shepherd and 8 siblings. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Newhard Funeral Home. There will be a visitation 1 hour prior to the service, 9:30 AM 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Judes. To sign an online guestbook, www.newhardfuneralhome.com
