Luigi Bove, 69, of Wall Township, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Vallata, Italy, Luigi came to the United States in 1972 with big dreams and an unshakable work ethic. He built a beautiful life here, rooted in family, friendship, and community.
For more than 45 years, Luigi was one of the proud owners of Luigi's Pizzeria in Lakehurst and the Circle Landmark which later became La Bove Grande, where he not only grew a thriving business but also created a place where countless people gathered, laughed, and shared meals. His entrepreneurial spirit extended beyond the pizzeria, as he built real estate holdings and provided opportunities for others. Luigi's life was a testament to hard work, perseverance, and generosity.
He made his home in Toms River for over 40 years, where he raised his family and enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him joy. Luigi loved golfing, taking his family out on his pontoon boat in Barnegat Bay, and spending winters vacationing in Florida. Above all, he cherished time with his family and friends. His great sense of humor and infamous jokes, warm smile, and giving nature touched everyone who knew him.
Luigi was predeceased by his beloved parents, Vincenzo and Clara Bove. He leaves behind his children, Cara Schoner and her husband Lance, Jena Pisacreta and her husband Ermino, and Vincent Bove and his wife Carly. He is also survived by his siblings, Guiseppe Bove (Sonia), Jerry Bove (Laura), Pasqualina "Lina" Maglara (Eraldo), and Antonio Roberto (Melissa). Luigi's greatest joy was his six grandchildren-Ava, Luca, Ella, Aria, Erminio, and Camille-who will forever carry his love and laughter in their hearts.
He is also predeceased by his extended family, Brett O'Donnell (Tania). Surviving members of his extended family include Phillip O'Donnell (Heather), Sean O'Donnell (Nicolette), and Olivia, Declan, Charlie, and Lia.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1–5 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 125 S. Cooks Bridge Rd, Jackson. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at St. John's Church, Lakehurst, followed by entombment at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
