Luis L. Martinez, a cherished father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at the age of 99. Born on August 6, 1925, in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, Luis was a man whose life was deeply rooted in the values of family, hard work, and dedication.

His passion for farming and cattle ranching was evident to all who knew him. He possessed a remarkable ability with animals and a knack for nurturing plants, which flourished under his care. Luis committed himself fully to his work in agriculture, finding joy in each seed sown and every animal tended. His dedication to ranching was not just a profession but a profound aspect of his identity.

Luis was known for being very reserved and often kept to himself, yet this quiet demeanor showed the depth of love and commitment he had for his family. He consistently placed their needs above his own, and his giving nature reflected his loving personality. Luis derived immense pride from his five children, who he treasured deeply, and he found great joy in the accomplishments of his grandchildren. His legacy will forever be honored through them.

Luis is survived by his loving children: Irma Sanchez (Daniel), Graciela Sesma (Ramon), Luis Martinez (Teresa), Josefina Gallegos (Alfred), and Gerardo Martinez (Connie). He also leaves behind a beautiful lineage of grandchildren including Veronica, Irma Daniela, David, Adam, Alex, Vivianna, Eddie, Adrianna, Vanessa, Luis, Christopher, Steven, Anthony, Nicholas and Daniela, as well as great-grandchildren Mateo, Ethan, Bella, Chris, Bradley, William, Brody, Avery, Elyssa, Izaac, Yaretzi, Evoleht, and Neveah. He also has many nieces, nephews, and friends who will fondly remember his kind spirit.

Luis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Maria Ernestina Martinez, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Their bond was a shining example of devotion and commitment.

A visitation will be held on January 10, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Martinez Funeral Chapels located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ. Following this, a Rosary will take place from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, also at the funeral home. A Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 602 W Ajo Way, Tucson, at 10:00 AM, concluding with a burial service at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, at 11:30 AM.

Luis L. Martinez leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and the importance of family that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his loved ones.
