Luis Morales passed unexpectedly on October 14, 2025, after a short illness with his loved ones by his bedside. Luis was born on August 15, 1937, to Jesus and Maria Morales in Brazito NM.
Luis was married to his beloved wife Gloria for 67 years, they have 3 children, 3 grandchildren and an extended family that included step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Luis had a passion for many things in his lifetime and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his great-grandson Jonis up until the time of his death. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed going to the casino, car races, spending holidays with family and most of all traveling with his wife Gloria. He was a devoted catholic and was a long-time member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Luis served in the National Army Reserve for 7 years. He worked for the City of Las Cruces for 25 years as a heavy equipment operator. Luis was an avid Steelers Fan.
Luis is survived by his wife Gloria. His son David Morales (Lillian), daughter Marisa Raitt, daughter Lorena Morales. He has three grandchildren Jaclyn Morales, Mathew DeLaPaz, and Danielle Morales. Great grandchildren Jonis, Kai, and Jace as well as an extended family that includes step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sister Amelia Moreno.
Luis was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jose Morales, sister Maria Ontiveros and parents Jesus and Maria Morales. Brother-in-law Ray Escalante, sister-in-law Irma Paez. Daughter-in-law Elsa Morales.
Services are scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rosary beginning at 1:30 pm and Mass at 2:00 pm.
